The property is 5 minutes walk down to Mangonui waterfront with its shops and cafés, restaurants, and the famous Mangonui Fish Shop.
The Mangonui Heritage Trail is on the doorstep, as are many other enjoyable walks, from easy strolls to more demanding walks.
Mangonui Accommodation
Set in a large garden, the retreat is very private and quiet.
For the ultimate views and comfort, treat yourself to the harbour view suite, the whole upstairs space, with an extra large bedroom, Californian King bed (King Koil) double basin ensuite and walk-in wardrobe. The living room has stunning views, patio furniture on the deck, a small kitchenette for making toast, tea or coffee, or keeping your wine cool!! Please note that this option is only available for a minimum 5 nights.
Downstairs are two queen-sized rooms and a king single room. The garden room, with views onto the garden and water feature, and the sound of native birds in the morning, is one of the queen rooms. This has a two-seater sofa for relaxing.
The Tui room is the second queen room, also with views to the garden. This room has a two-seater fold down bed.
The Azeri room is a single room with a king single bed. This room looks out on the pond and has bookshelves filled with books where you will find something for everyone. This is perfect for a backpacker, or a single person accompanying others in the queen room/s.
Special rates apply if two or more rooms are booked together.
All downstairs guests are welcome to use the living room and outdoor area, and on request, the kitchen.
Subject to availability, the whole house can be rented for a minimum period of a week.
Mangonui Bed & Breakfast
For $20 extra, you can enjoy a home-cooked breakfast, with 5 menu options, including fresh fruit salad and yogurt with home-made muesli; bacon, free-range eggs and hash browns; pancakes; eggs any style; or an Azerbaijani dish (pomidor yumurta) of eggs and tomatoes. All are served with fresh coffee, tea or juice.
