The ever-changing vista of Tuhua (Mayor Island) along the coast to Mauao (Mount Maunganui) and beyond the Bay of Plenty coastline is framed by wall-wide bi-fold doors throughout the retreat space for an effortless flow from comfort to natural surrounds.

A private retreat for couples or a small group, whether one bedroom or all four rooms are booked, guests enjoy private use of the entire retreat.
Accessed through the outdoor atrium, each of the four bedrooms offer Super King or twin king-single beds with wall to ceiling tiled ensuite bathrooms, one of which is fully wheelchair accessible, as is the entire retreat. The open plan kitchen, dining and living area is spacious with open beams and wide bi-fold doors on either side.

At Orokawa Bay Retreat we care about the environment and in the last two years have planted over 400 locally sourced native plants on the property. We offer recycling systems and ways for guests to achieve a more sustainable stay.
Being immersed in the landscape, it is common for birds such as the piwakawaka (fantail), tui and swallows to visit and enjoy the space too!
