Rally Drive NZ offers 3 main options in its Rally Driving Programme.

Rally Experience Course

The Rally Experience is a beginner-friendly course for those wanting to experience the once-in-a-lifetime thrill of racing a real rally car on the famous rally roads of the Maramarua Forest.

The day begins with a brief introduction to rallying and driving techniques, after which students take the wheel of a rally car guided by a Rally Drive NZ tutor. Participants complete three laps of the forest circuit, navigating gravel forest rally stages. The day concludes with an exhilarating ride in the passenger seat of the 4WD Mitsubishi Evo Rally Car, with an experienced rally driver at the helm.

Hot Seat Thrill Ride

Experience the adrenaline rush as you’re securely strapped into the passenger seat of a Mitsubishi Evo Rally Car, alongside an experienced rally driver. Embark on a thrilling 5-kilometre rally stage in the Maramarua Forest, where you’ll reach exhilarating speeds of up to 150kph on gravel terrain!

Rally School Weekend

This Motorsport NZ-accredited course is ideal for those wanting to start their journey into the world of Rallying. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone who has a Rally Car in the shed ready to go – come and spend the weekend with us learning all you need to know to sit your First Rally Licence and get some seat time in our 2WD and 4WD Mitsubishi Rally Cars.

Finish the day in the passenger seat while your instructor takes you for a run around the circuit at full rally pace!

Suitable for drivers aged 15 years and over – those under 18 need written parental permission.

Day One: Waerenga (10 minutes from Maramarua Forest Sunday Venue) 10am – 3pm

The morning theory session will focus on:

• Safety
• Navigation skills
• Preparation & driving techniques

The afternoon practical session covers:

• Grass Motorkhana & Autocross events
• A touring stage

Day Two:  Maramarua Forest 9am-3pm

Drive the rally cars on a real forest gravel stage with an experienced tutor in the passenger seat for 6 runs.

Enjoy both smooth and twisty surfaces on a real rally stage.

Take the passenger seat while your instructor takes you for a blast around the stage at full rally pace.

Fully Catered, lunch, snacks, and drinks are provided for both days – please advise us of any dietary requirements.
