Our horseback riding tours start off from the stable yard working our way through our fields of sheep and cattle.
We ride to a high point of the Te Anau basin to earn the panoramic 360-degree view of the spectacular mountain ranges and sparkling waters of Lake Te Anau.
As we are located just 5km from the Te Anau township, you spend your time with the horses rather than getting to our stables.
We have horses to suit all levels of rider’s confidence. Beginners and people with no previous experience are welcome – our horses are calm and tranquil and will look after you.
For the more experienced riders we have horses with a bit more spirit so we can match a horse to you, so you have fun too.
We can cater for different levels within the group so if someone in the group has had no previous experience, but you want to canter on the ride we allow for both of you to get the most from your ride. This needs to be arranged in advance so please tell us at your time of booking.
Our client to guide ratio depends on the experience of the riders. For beginners we have a client to guide ratio of at least 1 guide to 4 beginner riders for maximum safety and comfort.

2-hour Horse Trek – NZ$240 per person (this ride is not available in winter)
- Morning ride – departs 9 am
- Afternoon Ride – departs 1 pm
1 Hour Novice Horse Ride – NZ$170 per person
- Departs 4.30 pm
30 min Pony Rides – NZ$70 per person

- Sunscreen and a windbreaker / light rain jacket
- Camera (your guide will take a photo of you and your horse with the mountains or lake as a magnificent memento for you)

About Our Horses
At our farm, we breed and train our own horses, allowing them to roam freely across the hills with stunning views of the lake and mountains.
Our owner and operator guides bring years of natural horsemanship experience, ensuring that every horse is cared for with the same dedication you expect. Using gentle, natural training methods, we nurture each horse’s unique personality and character.
For the safety of both riders and horses, please note we have a rider weight limit of 95kg (210lbs).
