High Country Salmon is a boutique, family-owned salmon farm set on a beautiful floating platform just 3km south of Twizel. They grow premium glacial mountain Chinook (King) salmon in the pristine hydro-canal system — producing firmer flesh and a clean, delicate flavour. Because everything is done on-site, they have one of the shortest supply chains in New Zealand, delivering exceptionally fresh salmon.
What Visitors Can Do
Logans Floating Café & Restaurant
Enjoy all-day dining on the water — from sashimi, sushi and cabinet bites to shared platters and hearty meals. Their chefs use fresh, seasonal local ingredients (including plenty of their own salmon) for flavour-packed dishes in a relaxed, scenic setting.
Fish Shop & Deli
Buy fresh, smoked, or cured salmon, deli treats, kitchenware, and merchandise. They provide complimentary ice-packaging, and you can also order salmon delivered anywhere in New Zealand through their website.
Fish Feeding (Free!)
Feed the hungry salmon from the deck — available all day and great fun for all ages. Donations support a different charity each month.
Catch-A-Fish Experience
Catch your own glacial mountain salmon! No gear or experience needed. Walk-ins may be available, but booking is recommended to guarantee a spot.
