Salmon Farm South Island
Our Chinook (or King) salmon are grown in the glacial waters of the Mackenzie Country hydro canals. The constant flow of pristine water makes our salmon firm in flesh, and mild on the palate. Chefs throughout New Zealand enjoy the textural and flavour differences of our glacial mountain salmon.
The Fish Shop boasts a huge range of fresh, smoked and cured salmon, deli foods, kitchenware and merchandise.
Online ordering for nationwide delivery of fresh NZ salmon is available via the website. If you would like some salmon delivered to your door throughout New Zealand, just place an order via our website.
The Cafe has been updated and is now “Logans @ High Country Salmon”. There is a mouth-watering selection of cabinet food including sashimi & sushi or order off our kitchen menu. Order an Allpress coffee, craft beer or local wine to compliment your meal. Feed the hungry salmon out on the deck for free (or a donation to the charity of the month). This is available all day, every day and is great fun for all ages.
The Catch-A-Fish Experience is suitable for the whole family – you can catch your own glacial mountain salmon and take it home. No gear required and no experience necessary. Filleting available for an extra charge. Although walk-ins are available, we recommend booking to guarantee your spot. We have two options for groups visiting us at High Country Salmon – a set menu lunch, or sashimi tastings. These options are available for groups of 8 – 25 people.
