Your wife is happy to come along but isn’t keen on rough seas – we know what it’s like! That’s why we’ve put together our ultimate family fun packages, designed with you and your family in mind.

What’s included: Fishing, fun and exploration in the Bay of Islands with our experienced skipper. All bait, rods and hot drinks included. Cruise the Bay of Islands; possibly encountering whales and penguins. Often the fish we’re trying to catch will be feeding on the surface. We can also, by prior arrangement, stop at a sheltered bay and maybe take a swim. It is the best way to experience our slice of paradise.

Big Game Fishing Bay of Islands

What’s included: All gear and hot drinks included. This is an intense day of hunting for the big one – an experience you will NEVER forget. Whether it’s your first time or whether you’re an old-hand, catching and landing a marlin is a true adrenalin-pumping moment! These massive creatures will give you the fight of your life. Furthermore, with some of the world’s biggest striped marlin being caught right here in the Bay of Islands, you’re in the right place to make history.
What to bring: Bring your sunscreen and hats, bring some warm clothing, a packed lunch, snacks and cold drinks – and don’t forget your cameras for when you make a new world record. We always recommend customers are prepared prior to charter with a suitable seasick preventative.
Our Boat
The Target Charter vessel is a comfortable 36 ft long. It has a cruising speed of about 12 knots and a maximum speed of 20 knots. Target Charters offers a comfortable sheltered cabin with lounge seating. It features an easily accessible and fully private onboard marine toilet. Our beautiful boat is fitted with a full galley featuring a gas cooker. We have a modern Furuno Fish Finder/Chart Plotter on board to assist us in our fishing expeditions. We are perfectly set up for game fishing with outriggers and a game chair. Our onboard fishing tackle is high quality Shimano gear, and our boat is completely compliant with all Maritime Safety Standards. We are surveyed to charter up to 8 people plus crew.
