This charming region is known for its warm hospitality, historic country pubs, rich history, and picturesque townships. It boasts a strong farming heritage, scenic walking trails, and countless cycling opportunities. Maniototo is also home to the ancient Scottish game of curling, where tradition is proudly upheld.

Hawkdun Lodge is a quality motel-style complex offering a relaxing escape with an abundance of comfort, style and space.
We have 13 spacious units plus a guest laundry, secure bike storage and free WiFi.
If you wish to stay in and relax, we have an attractive communal kitchen and lounge where you can make your own meal or enjoy one of our dining options.
Each of our suites has its own unique décor that reflects a place name or landscape feature from our area.
Choose from studio suites with ensuites or spa bath ensuites (1-2 people) and one-bedroom suites (2-3 people). A family or larger group can be accommodated in our interconnecting (family) unit (4-6 people).

Hawkdun Room
There are tables and chairs for dining indoors or a large outdoor table adjacent to the Hawkdun Room.
The room has comfortable sofas and chairs for socialising, a 42” wall mounted TV, a DVD, games, books and magazines. For comfort the room has a gas fire and two heat pumps for heating or cooling as required. The Hawkdun Room has a patio and catches the afternoon sun. It has views across the Maniototo countryside and is a great place to watch the sun set.
Continental breakfast is served in the Hawkdun Room (from 1st Sept till 1st May at $20 per person).
Group Accommodation & Conference Venue
Hawkdun Lodge offers 13 comfortable, quiet units, with additional accommodation available through our partnership with Maniototo Lodge—an upmarket B&B located nearby.
We provide a tranquil setting in Central Otago, ideal for small conferences, business strategy meetings, and corporate retreats. Just 90 minutes from Dunedin, our venue offers a productive escape from the office.
Our services include venue hire, catering, accommodation, and team-building activities, all tailored to meet your needs. The Hawkdun Room comfortably seats up to 14 people and can be arranged to suit your requirements. It features a 42” TV for presentations and videos, as well as a whiteboard for brainstorming sessions.
