Hidden Valleys is New Zealand’s finest provider of multi-day river rafting journeys and day trips in the South Island of New Zealand.
Our Canterbury rafting trips are tailored to a personal package with options to suit everyone, including adventure for families, corporate groups, sports teams or other special interest groups.
Canterbury River Rafting
Rangitata Gorge – Blast down the beautiful and mighty Rangitata Gorge with its exhilarating grade 4/5 rapids, right here in South Canterbury’s own backyard.
Landsborough River – The Landsborough is a truly remote, seldom-rafted grade 2-4 river with huge, snow-capped mountains as its jaw-dropping backdrop.
Clarence River – An epic multi-day river rafting journey through the rough, untouched country situated between Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura.
Upper Waiau River – The river provides a great trip for an outdoors-oriented family or a group of friends or workmates. There is the option to either hike in or take a jaw-dropping helicopter ride.
Lower Rangitata River Trips – The Lower Rangiatata rafting trip is a great option for families, and those who want to ease their way into rafting and want to take it easy with a relaxing float down our local iconic river. The lower river also offers an alternative trip if the gorge is in flood.
Multi-Day River Rafting Tours
Most of our trips consist of 2-5 days of rafting/camping complemented with campfire cooking. Multi-day river rafting isn’t necessarily about rapids and white water, but about getting away from modern distractions and sharing the experience with the company of friends and family, both out on the river and around the campfire in the evenings.
White Water Heli-Rafting Day Trips
Hidden Valleys offers white-water rafting trips accessible only by helicopter or hiking in. We give you the opportunity to be one of the very few people able to experience the unique rivers that flow coastward from the South Island’s Main Divide and Southern Alps.
Alpine Hiking Tours
Hidden Valleys gives you the chance to hike over high alpine passes and into the headwaters of the many remote rivers we raft. The hiking trips we offer are challenging, but rewarding. We give you the opportunity to cross the South Island’s Main Divide, The Southern Alps.
River Rafting Day Trips
Our full or half day river rafting trips cater for all levels of expertise and provide a unique way to experience New Zealand’s spectacular scenery including deep gorges, stunning mountain ranges, beautiful forests and crystal-clear waters.
Special Interest Groups
There’s no better way to forge a strong bond within a group like working together as a team on the water. Our trips are perfect for corporate and business groups, sports teams or even just a family get-together!
