Awatuna Sunset Lodge offers boutique adult-only accommodation on the West Coast, featuring just three guest rooms, each with its own ensuite, to ensure privacy, personalised service, and comfort.
We also have two powered sites for self-contained motorhomes.
- We are pet-free so are perfect for people with allergies. Our chickens live in the lower paddock away from the Lodge.
- House guests have access to a guest dining and lounge area. Accessible 24/7, it features tea and coffee-making facilities and expansive sea and garden views.
- We don’t have fridges or kettles in the room to ensure a peaceful and relaxing room environment.
- You will also find a delicious Continental and Full English breakfast served here every morning.
- Enjoy home-grown and home-cooked breakfasts and dinners at what is arguably the best dining experience with the best views of the Tasman Sea on the West Coast.
- Dressing gowns and slippers are provided for use around the Lodge for your comfort.
- The perfect way to end your day is with a soak in our spa pool. Overlooking the beach, sit back and rejuvenate while watching the waves crash on the beach while the sun sets.

Then hop into your comfortable king-size bed and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.

Waimea King Suite – Our Waimea King Suite, located adjacent to our Tasman King Suite, also boast French doors opening onto a large sunny sea-view deck, ideal for sipping sundowners at day’s end. Fall asleep to the gentle sound of the waves on your comfortable king-size bed.

Tui Double, Twin, or Triple Room – With a comfy queen bed and king single bed, this versatile room is perfect as a double, twin-share, or, triple room The room has an ensuite bathroom with a rain-head shower. Situated at the front of the property this room gets some traffic noise, which is dampened by the double-glazed windows. Although this room does not have sea views, you have easy access to the sea-view lounge/dining room and outdoor patio with furniture that overlooks the Tasman sea where you can enjoy the views.

If you would like to take a day and night off cooking, you can order espresso coffee, breakfast and dinner at the Lodge.
