About Stardome
Stardome Auckland has recently reopened following a major redevelopment, unveiling vibrant new galleries designed to reconnect people with the cosmos. The refreshed space places science and mātauranga Māori alongside each other, creating a uniquely Aotearoa approach to astronomy education.
Through a combination of interactive exhibits, planetarium shows, and telescope viewing, visitors can learn how to identify stars and planets visible in the skies above Auckland.
Stardome is also the first place in New Zealand to offer a comprehensive star map featuring Māori names for whetū (stars), planets, and constellations.
