Raglan Farmhouse offers unique accommodation in the relaxed environment of Te Whare Farm, Situated on 2 acres within walking distance of Raglan township. Amazing harbour views await you, where the massive out door living area gives you a picture perfect view of the sun setting across the estuary and behind Mt Karioi.

In our large newly renovated and insulated barn, we are especially suited to groups looking to rent out the entire location for a family celebration or business’s looking for a unique location for your next team building exercise. With large bi-folding windows over looking the estuary and mountain providing a picture perfect setting for any occasion. We can sleep up to 18 people on luxurious organic mattress’s and bedding, as well as space for tents and motor homes.

Raglan Farmhouse is a tolerant and creative place, where we invite people from all walks of life to share and enjoy this piece of paradise with us. There is space to retreat in our sheltered garden of old fruit trees or socialize in our family style living areas and kitchens, or cook up a feed on the BBQ followed by a soak in the 8 person hot tub counting the shooting stars.

Te Whare Farm features:

Due to Council regulations we are focusing our property towards groups that rent out the entire location for 2 or 3 nights at a time, we will still continue to offer Bed & Breakfast accommodation to couples and singles, these can be booked directly through our website under the link ‘Rates & Booking”

• House Master with private bathroom - The Master Bedroom of the house features an antique brass bed with a modern slat base and organic mattress, providing an idyllic sleeping experience, with your own private bathroom adjacent to the room.
• House Queen with private bathroom - The old Farmhouse also contains a smaller Queen room with a native wood slat bed our organic bedding and another bathroom right next door just for you.
• Queen Cabin / Twin share - Cute and private, just a stones throw from the house are two new wood lined cabins with private views over rolling farmland and the ever changing estuary. the Queen Cabin is perfect for couples and the Twin Cabin contains two single beds. The Cabins share a brand new bathroom facility, up a short ramp to the back of the barn, and of course you can use the Kitchen in the renovated farmhouse and Barn.
• Flashpacker Sleepout - Next to the cabins tucked under the old Oak tree is this spacious sleep out, which features 5 single beds, at only $30 a night each it is perfect for travellers on a budget who have moved on from sleeping on bunk beds at packed out youth hostels, and don’t mind paying that little bit extra for a few more creature comforts, such as WIFI, no bunk beds, optional breakfast, powerful hot showers and of course a more intimate and personal environment. To book a Flashpacker Bed you will need to give us a phone call, email or turn up and see if we have space, as they are not bookable over the internet, and we retain the right to refuse accommodation if we feel you may disturb others.

Experience

Watching the sky above Mt Karioi turn all shades of yellow, orange, pink and purple while enjoying a meal with friends and family, should help the most stressed out and over worked amongst you to finally relax and take time out to appreciate the good things in life. Set up either outside on the deck or inside the barn.

We can easily accommodate 40+ people for a sit down meal either in the barn or on the front lawn, There are two kitchens one in the barn and one in the house so plenty of space to cook for large numbers, as well as the possibility of live cooking events, or opt for a simple BBQ or spit roast.

Te Whare Farm is a special place with a lot of history going back over 150 years (it was once home to the brother of Ernest Rutherford who ran a flax mill operation from here.) We are very happy to have the privilege of looking after this place and calling it home. It is a creative and tolerant space where we invite people from all walks of life to share and enjoy this piece of paradise with us (sexism, racism or homophobia will not be tolerated at Te Whare Farm)

We welcome you to chill out on our large deck, overlooking the harbour while soaking in the spa. There is space to retreat in our sheltered garden of old fruit trees or socialize in our family style living areas. Alternatively put your feet up in the sunroom with a good book from our library of creative and inspirational books and magazines from around the world, and if its winter time why not curl up next to the log fire.

Wake to the smell of locally roasted coffee, and enjoy your first cup as we make your breakfast. Choose either the Continental Breakfast $6 consisting of Artisan bread, locally produced spreads, and an array of teas. Or perhaps something from our Home Cooked Breakfast Menu $8-$16 for those after something with a bit more umpf, such as our Yummy seasonal smoothies, Hearty Farmhouse Porridge full of fruit and nuts, daily free range eggs, homemade hollandaise sauce for our perfectly poached eggs benny or try the very French toast lathered in enough maple syrup to stop your heart…

*Breakfast is only offered to Bed & Breakfast customers not groups, as we like to take the opportunity to get away ourselves when we have rented the entire location out.
