Olivers Lodge & Stables, Clyde
The historic Olivers Lodge complex has opened a new chapter in its fascinating history, undergoing an authentic restoration, reflecting its significant place in the chronicles of the Central Otago region.
The original stone complex, located in Clyde’s historic precinct, was built by Benjamin Naylor in 1869 as a general store, servicing the prospectors who sought their fortunes during the Otago gold rush. Today, in recognition of its outstanding heritage value, Olivers is protected by the New Zealand Historic Places Trust with a priority category one classification.
Accommodation
Olivers Lodge and Stables offers two distinctive styles of Clyde accommodation and is the ideal stop over for cyclists on the Otago Central Rail Trail.
The five Stables rooms, overlooking a landscaped courtyard, have a rustic ambience reminiscent of Central Otago pioneering days. Schist walls, stone floors, rough sawn timber beams and stable doors enhance the 1860s theme while the six Lodge rooms showcase elegant contemporary interiors.
Included in all of the rates is a freshly baked hot breakfast served in the 115 year old schist walled dining room, or outside in Olivers sunny courtyard.

Event Venue
Olivers Central Otago provides a superb setting for events and in particular wedding receptions.The attractive front garden, back dropped by the heritage Olivers complex caters for 150-180 people. An 6m x 6m all weather marquee is available for hire.
