Nokomai Valley Lodge is located on Nokomai Station, a large high country farming property, one hour south from Queenstown.
Attractions to the lodge and its rural location include country walks, fishing the Mataura river, farming tours, vivid night skies, local cycle trail, and plenty more.

Accommodation
Nokomai Valley Lodge offers accommodation in separate country style cottages. Along side the cottages is the central lodge and the restored stone part of the original station homestead 1875.
The Lodge offers a variety of activities, and is especially popular with anglers who come to fish our local Mataura river.

The Venue
The addition of a new Lodge building provides an opportunity to cater for small to medium size gatherings. Facilities Large lodge areas well as smaller rooms available for meetings, and events. Accommodation available in Lodge cottages, max 12 - 15 people. Full catering available. Spacious outdoor areas. Suitable for: Meetings, Corporate incentive programmes, Learning programmes, e.g. Art, Fishing, Cooking Family, special occasions, reunions Music concerts.
Beverages: We now stock an excellent selection of NZ and Central Otago wines as well as beer, spirits, soft drinks and snacks for our guests to purchase ..
Dining: One of the popular times of the day at Nokomai is meal time where you join the other guests for taste of our country cuisine. We offer breakfast, and dinner in our dining room and packed lunches for you to enjoy during the day.All meals are available with prior notice. The cottages also have a small kitchenette for self catering
Farm Life: Nokomai Valley Lodge is a fully operational high country sheep and cattle station. Our animals are free range most of the time except when they are herded into the yards for handling. A guided two hour vehicle tour explaining our farming, landscape, and NZ country life is available.
Bird Watchers: We have identified all the birds in our valley. Come and see if you can find them, along with our identification booklet.

Nokomai Valley Lodge Activities
Around the Mountain Cycle Trail one of the new nationwide cycle trails passes through our district.
Walking/Hiking - Nokomai Station has a great variety of tracks and trails ideal for walking and exploring. Choose from a short stroll through to a full day's hike.
Popular Short Walk. Nokomai Valley History Walk. This is a self guided walk with information provided. A good way to discover our valley.
Fishing - Bring your own equipment or team up with our guide for a day's trout fishing on the famous Mataura River.
Heritage Trail - Nokomai Valley is part of the Northern Southland Heritage Trail which visits places of historical importance in the area. The owners of Nokomai have recently restored the original homestead which was built in 1873. Learn about the history of farming and gold-mining at Nokomai.
