Mon Logis Bed & Breakfast in Napier is a little piece of France nestled in the heart of beautiful wine growing Hawke's Bay region.
Originally built as an English terrace house in the 1860's this Colonial building was extended into a private hotel accommodation in 1915. It was one of the city buildings to survive the 1931 Napier Earthquake.
Only a few minutes walk to the city centre, this grand two storey Colonial Villa overlooking the Pacific Ocean has a fascinating history as a private hotel since the early 1900's. In 1991 it became Mon Logis, meaning 'My Lodge'. Mon Logis Napier accommodation recreates a French tradition of a boutique hotel in Hawke's Bay.
A delicious breakfast can be served in the privacy of your own room or downstairs dining room. A basket of freshly baked continental breads and croissants with a compote of locally grown fruits or a wonderful omelette, crispy bacon, poached or fried eggs, saute mushrooms and grilled tomatoes.
Napier Accommodation
Mon Logis Bed and Breakfast Napier will cater to a maximum of eight guests and is modelled on the small privately owned French Hotel. Of the four upstairs individually furnished rooms, all have King size beds and two can convert into twin beds, and all have their own private facilities.
Frenchman Gerard Averous has decorated each room in the bed and breakfast differently, but in a style in keeping with the original charm of the building. Iron bedsteads, feather duvets, lace covers and fine cotton linen all create a special elegance.
Downstairs the two B&B guest lounges invite relaxation, television viewing, radio or CD listening, a quiet time reading, or perhaps a game of chess or bridge. Guests can help themselves to coffee, tea or fruit juice and home made biscuits any time of the day.
The Hawke's Bay region
When you travel to the Hawkes Bay region, you will find it is blessed with some of New Zealand's warmest weather, making it one of the most prominent wine producing areas of New Zealand. While staying at Mon Logis Bed & Breakfast Napier, be sure to visit some of the 70 odd vineyards scattered around the region, while also taking in the distinctive Art Deco architecture, beautiful coastal landscapes and inspiring creations of the renowned local arts community.
