Ashfields is a quality self-contained bed and breakfast, set within a beautiful country garden and kiwifruit orchard in the heart of the sunny Bay of Plenty. 

Only 60 minutes from both Rotorua and Tauranga, and 20 minutes from Whakatane, Ashfields is the perfect base from which to explore the sunny Bay of Plenty. 

Stay a few days at Ashfields (unpack only once) and enjoy relaxed, luxurious accommodation in between exploring the different sights around the region. Within easy access you'll find:

• WHAKATANE and surrounds, a delightful small town with many excellent cafes, restaurants and boutique shops. 
• Fabulous coastal bush walks and one of the best beaches in NZ are within easy reach.
• At least two excellent golf courses, kayaking, fishing, jet boating and of course the not to be missed trip to WHITE ISLAND, an active volcano which can be accessed by boat or helicopter.
• Then there is swimming with dolphins, diving, snorkelling.....
• Rotorua is an easy day trip away (45mins drive) past beautiful lakes and bush or go via TAURANGA And MOUNT MANGANUI (1hr drive) - a lovely coastal drive.

Return at the end of the day to the peace and quiet of a large country garden, a dip in the pool, drinks on the deck and maybe one of Kate's bbq hampers to cook at your leisure on your private guest BBQ.

If you are continuing your journey South around the EAST CAPE to GISBORNE, NAPIER, TAUPO, HAWKES BAY, or the TONGARIRO CROSSING we are perfectly situated to break the journey. Likewise, if you're heading North to the COROMANDEL PENINSULA stop here for a refreshing break.

• swimming pool for cooling off on the really hot days

We provide for your comfort:

• 100% cotton sheets and either feather or cotton duvets
• continental breakfast with a selection of homemade delights and cooked breakfast on request
• option of delicious home cooked meal, picnic or BBQ hamper for an additional cost per head
• complimentary laundry service

Accommodation

Cost per night is for one couple including a delicious continental breakfast consisting of fresh fruits in season, homemade cereals, fresh croissants and bread, home-made jams and spreads and fruit juice squeezed fresh with fruits from our own garden.

• High season (from 1 November to 30 April): $200 per couple, $180 single
  
• Low season (from 1 May to 31 October): $180 per couple, $160 single
  

Meals

• Evening meal (with a complimentary NZ wine or beer) and dessert is available on request for $40 per head
• A generous picnic hamper can be made available on request for $15 per head
• BBQ hamper (meat, salads, breads, dessert) on request for self-cooking is available for $30 per head
