Hiring a campervan or motorhome in New Zealand can be done from the main cities in NZ such as Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin and Queenstown, as well as from small towns and cities around the country.
Vehicle hire can be done either one way or can be returned to the same pick up point. Many rental car companies have offices nationwide, and will collect you from the airport or your accommodation.
For those who are travelling the whole country and want to cross from the North to the South Island, there is the option of either taking the vehicle on the Interislander Ferry, or to drop off your vehicle in Wellington and pick up a replacement vehicle in Picton.
Off peak campervan/motorhome hire rates are reduced in the colder NZ months.
Advance bookings in the peak season (Dec/Jan/Feb) are highly recommended.
