Bledisloe Cup match All Blacks vs Australia Eden park 25th August
Its that time again folks .The bledisloe cup the All blacks vs the Wallaibies at eden park at Eden Park on August 25th.
The best event on the rugby calander this year .
We went last year to see the the all Blacks give the Wallabies a good old thrasing . It was a test run for Auckland to sort it services out for the world cub opening ceremony at Eden park later that year and all seem to go well on the night. The game was a great and the kids loved it
We booked in to the Quest Apartments in Newmarket. There was five of us so we took one of their two bedroom units The Quest Newmarket is a great spot and we stay there often as it is right in the heart of Newmarket and next to some real cool cafes restaurants' and bars David the owner has been in the industry for a long time and runs a great place and he often runs weekend packages which make it very affordable for families and small groups as well as couples looking to getaway for a romantic weekend . The best thing about staying in Newmarket when going to the rugby or a event is you can just walk to the train station which is then only two stops to Eden park and the trains are free for the night of the game . Like I said we took the train last year instead of driving we had three kids with us its was a lot of fun and we were back in our hotel room about a hour after the final whistle .So need less to say we will be doing it again this year
With the eden park match being the only Bledisloe Cup match being played on home soil this is sure to be one to remember .
In 2011 it was a 2 game series due to the upcoming World Cup affecting schedules. The All Blacks retained the Bledisloe Cup in 2011, as winners of the first game (the cup holder retains the cup if the series is a draw)
2012 will be a 3 match series
2012 game dates are:
18 August NZ All Blacks v Australia at ANZ Stadium, Sydney
25 August NZ All Blacks v Australia at Eden Park, Auckland
A third Bledisloe Cup match has been scheduled for 20 October NZ ALL BLACKS vs Australia at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane
So Go the mighty ALL BLACKS and lets keep that cup in New Zealand again this year
Destination AUCKLAND
Auckland's waterside location has fostered the locals' love affair with the sea, earning this place the nickname "City of Sails".
Auckland sprawls over a narrow isthmus between the sparkling waters of the Waitemata and Manukau Harbours. A cloak of rainforest covers the surrounding hills, dozens of dormant volcanic cones dot the landscape and enchanting holiday islands are scattered throughout the vast Hauraki Gulf.
With a bustling CBD there is always plenty to see and do around Auckland from the iconic Sky Tower through to one of the little cafes spotted around the city there is something for everyone.
