of the spectacular and historic region of Warkworth New Zealand.
We look forward

many scenic and historic gems and it is our pleasure to reveal them
to you. Our three principal itineraries encompass the essence of
the region and allow you to truly experience and enjoy its delights
through one of our small, leisurely paced Warkworth and Matakana
tours.
Numbers are
restricted to no more than eleven and typically are eight or fewer,
allowing us to provide a more personalised tour at a reasonable
cost. On all tours your local host/guide will provide an informative
commentary, from the areas origins through to its modern developments.

TOURS
Matakana
Wines - Our wine tour itineraries ensure you sample the best
of the wine and vineyard styles available in the district, from
the welcoming cellar doors of elegant designer wineries to the rustic
charm of boutique family vineyards in quiet pastoral settings. Whether
you have the whole day or only a few hours our tours provide a real
insight to the regions handcrafted wine with the chance to
meet some of the wine makers and sample the results of their craft.
We provide tasting notes, vineyard briefs and a knowledgeable guide
to enhance your tasting experience. Half Day tours from NZ$65 per
person inclusive of tasting costs.
Matakana
Taster - Our very popular taste of Matakana starts in the historic
town of Warkworth.
Making our way
eastwards through lovely rolling countryside we call at New Zealands
oldest marine reserve at Goat Island. Here we pause to meet the
friendly fish and explore the coast with the option for a trip in
the famous glass bottom boat (fare NZ$20 paid to the boatman).
After an alfresco
shearers tea we head for the renowned Morris and James pottery
to stroll through their spectacular showroom and peek at the potting
process. We enjoy a leisurely lunch amidst the vines at the boutique
Herons Flight vineyard before heading to the east coast beaches
and a stop at the beautiful Scotts Landing historic homestead
. We return to Warkworth in time for a stroll by the river or to
meet onward connections.
Tour price: NZ$125 per person includes shearers morning tea
and vineyard lunch
Matakana Coast & Country - This special tour allows you
to sample both the beautiful Matakana countryside and the stunning
coastline of Kawau Bay and off-lying islands.
Leaving historic
Warkworth we head for the tiny ferry port of Sandspit where the
twin hulled launch Top Cat will uplift you for an extended
cruise of the Bay including a visit to the historic Mansion House
and a chance to spy Governor Greys wallabies.
With appetites
whetted by the sea air we return to Sandspit and head for the boutique
Herons Flight vineyard for a leisurely lunch amidst the vines.
We aid digestion with a stroll through the renowned Morris and James
pottery before heading back to Warkworth to explore the town or
to meet onward connections.

tour offered in lieu. NZ$180 per person includes sailors stand
easy, Mansion House Entry and vineyard lunch
Warkworth Heritage - Our heritage tour focuses on the areas
history and commences with a visit to the beautiful historic homestead
at Scotts Landing.
Following an
alfresco shearers tea we head westwards to the Warkworth Museum
and the fascinating Parry Kauri Park featuring the impressive 800
year old McKinney Kauri.
We take a leisurely
lunch overlooking the vines at the boutique Ransom vineyard before
mustering at Sheepworld for the afternoon show and an insight to
the important role sheep have played in New Zealands recent
history.
With the dogs
told Thatll do we return to Warkworth in time
to explore the town or meet onward connections.
Tour price: NZ$140 per person includes includes shearers tea,
vineyard lunch, museum and Sheepworld entry
Design A Tour - We are pleased to arrange tours to meet special
interests or to include activities not part of our standard itineraries.
We are linked with other operators in the area covering such activities
as sailing, fishing, kayaking, diving and horse riding. Please contact
us with your requirements and we will formulate an itinerary to
enthral.

Break your north/south
journey for a night in one of the areas many excellent homestays,
farmstays or motels. We can arrange for the Wisdome bus to collect
or drop you off at accommodation in the Warkworth area and then
link you with your onwards travel connections. Please ask us about
accommodation options.
