golden sandy surf beach just 300m away. You can sit on the terrace
of your cabin or in your tent and watch the sun rise, listen to
the sound of the waves and the birds sing. Great place to relax,
enjoy the beach or the variety of walks.
Camp
and power sites are available with communal kitchen, laundry, showers
and toilets.
Accommodation
is in self-contained cabins, kitchen cabins with toilets or standard
cabins. The park is terraced to make the most of the fantastic views.
Waipatiki
Beach is popular for swimming and suitable for board riding at times.
Fishermen enjoy surfcasting, gathering shellfish, mussels and paua
and crayfish.
Walking
tracks around the coast both north and south give access to a variety
of small bays and Aropaoanui beach to the north. On a clear day
you can see from Mahia Peninsular to Cape Kidnappers. Bush walks
in the area take you through now rare examples of coastal bush with
600year old kahikatea trees, nikau palms and numerous other native
species with abundant bird life such as kereru, fantails, tui and
bellbirds. As a contrast to the bush there is a redwood forest,
follow the walking track as it winds its way through the redwoods
and native plantings.
Our
holiday park is situated at the end of a working farm, cattle, sheep
and horses can be viewed while driving or walking and poultry, ducks
and turkeys add to the farm atmosphere.
