Waimarama is a luxury private lodge on the banks of the Tongariro River in the central North Island of New Zealand. The lodge is available to single parties as a self-catering accommodation rental.

Waimarama Lodge offers superbly appointed accommodation for up to 8 people at a time in one of the original riverside homes of the region. Waimarama is situated overlooking the Major Jones and Breakfast fishing pools on the Tongariro River and guests seeking fine trout fishing can be on these magical reaches of the river within minutes of arrival.

Waimarama is also ideally located for those who seek the alpine challenges of the nearby central North Island ski fields on Mount Ruapehu. Alternatively, it provides a wonderful base for those wishing to walk the renowned Tongariro Crossing, and do any number of other attractions that are available on and around neighbouring Lake Taupo.

So, whether you are an avid angler pursuing that elusive Rainbow Trout, or looking for a family base during the ski season, or interested in entertaining select business associates with something a little different, or simply looking for an ideal spot to relax with music and a good book in the library or the garden.

Accommodation
Waimarama Lodge, Tongariro, is available to single parties as a self-catering vacation rental and can accommodate up to 8 people at one time. Luxury accommodation is provided in the main house of the Lodge and a cottage situated in the gardens.

The house accommodation consists of living room, dining room, library, kitchen, laundry, 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

The Lodge house has a fully equipped kitchen, including a pantry stocked with base provisions, and an extensive library. Match lined ceilings in native Rimu timber are a feature throughout. The house features art works by various New Zealand artists.

The cottage was originally a pottery studio but is now furnished to provide a romantic adjunct to the accommodation in the house. It has a large double bed, a small kitchenette with microwave oven and a refrigerator. The cottage has its own bathroom and shower and opens to a deck that catches the sun most of the day. It is heated in winter by its own open fire or by electric heater.
