The New Zealand
Caterpillar Experience Is the only attraction of its kind in the
world. View vintage Caterpillar® earthmovers and machinery and
enjoy an insight into how New Zealand's land was changed by man
and Caterpillar® machinery from the mid 19th century through
to today.
The exhibits
and informational displays include rare vintage Caterpillar®
earthmovers and we are fortunate to have obtained a Fifteen Motor
Patrol grader believed to be the last of its kind in the world.
The Caterpillars®
and related heavy machinery are staged in authentically recreated
landscapes and innovative settings, surrounded by audio visual displays.
This attraction
takes visitors on a fascinating journey through part of New Zealand's
history. They will see first hand how the New Zealand landscape
was changed by man with the aid of Caterpillar® machinery and
follow the role that the global icon "Cat" had in shaping
this country, and surprisingly its people, from the early 20th century
until today.
More than 30
impressive refurbished Caterpillar® and other vintage vehicles
are staged in authentically recreated landscapes and innovative
settings, surrounded by specially created audio visual displays
and storyboards.
This is the
workings of a passionate Kiwi who has led with commitment and effort
in preserving world and New Zealand heritage and is now presenting
history in a new and innovative manner.
