A journey into the world of Maori.

Spend an evening with us, at Rakeiao Marae situated on the shores of Lake Rotoiti. A truly unique, authentic, warm and traditional Maori welcome awaits you when you journey with us. Only a short 20 minute from Rotorua, Rakeiao Marae is idyllic.

By the time you arrive, you will have been prepared for the spine chilling authentic 'Wero' (challenge) and welcome on to the Marae. After the Powhiri (formal welcome) you will become a part of the family for the rest of the evening. You will be enchanted, delighted and entertained by a variety of traditional Maori performances. You will experience the fierce Haka (war dance), the twirliing of poi, stick games and listen to action songs that tell stories of old.
