Aratiatia Scenic
Reserve is the beautifully stunning back drop for Rapids Jet.New
Zealand's premier white water Jet Boat ride.
Since 1993 Rapids
Jet have been boating the biggest rapids for commercial Jet Boating
in New Zealand. Over 100,000 clients aged 5-89 years have now safely
experienced the thrill of real white water jet boating, something
unique, which can only be found here in Taupo. We take you up close
to the Aratiatia Power Station to the base of the Aratiatia Rapids,
New Zealand's biggest and longest rapids that spill from the Aratiatia
dam daily. (Sorry, we cannot jet boat up there). As we head downstream
we shoot through the narrowest canyon on the Waikato River. You
will be exhilarated by the spin, and stunned by the amazing scenery
and clarity of the crystal clear waters. Spot a world famous Taupo
trout, and then get ready to surf in the "rough stuff",
the awesome Nga Awapurua Rapids.(which means 'river of springs')
