"The
Perfect Day" delivers just that on a 23 metre multi-deck
luxurious cruise out to the famous Poor Knights Islands where
you can experience the dramatic landscape, and share with passionate
people the local stories that link them to these islands. Hear
the tumultuous and tragic Maori history that makes this place
so spiritual.
An icon on
Northland's horizon, the Poor Knights islands are washed by a
warm current that sweeps down from the Coral Sea; pending World
Heritage Status, and complete with a diversity in nature that
is found nowhere else in the world, unique and endemic species
thrive both above and below the water.
Eleven million
years old and with volcanic origins that provide a myriad of spectacular
cliffs, archways, walls, tunnels, and the World's Largest Sea
Cave, Rikoriko, breathtaking scenery and sheltered harbours.
Home to the tuatara, the giant weta, sub-tropical fish and coral
species, gorgonian fans, bellbirds, and gannet colonies, you can
experience a unique biodiversity that is free from predators and
introduced species, the islands are a complete marine reserve
and nature reserve.
View gannet
colonies, breeding grounds of rare sea birds, seal colonies and
whales, dolphins and even orca in season.
We provide
kayaks you can paddle, and you swim off our specially designed
platform in the middle of a Marine Reserve, mask, and snorkels
provided.
If you feel
less active there are multiple decks on which to relax, sunbath,
eat or sit inside in air-conditioned comfort whilst watching our
live fish-cam on a flat screen tv.
Anchored in
a calm bay you will enjoy a tropical buffet lunch, and experience
a Perfect Day.
