Owhanake
Bay Estate offers luxury boutique accommodation overlooking the
beautiful, and secluded, Owhanake Bay on Waiheke Island in New Zealand.
It is a short walk to the beach below the estate.
Our
peaceful grounds include a vineyard, an olive grove and extensive
New Zealand native tree plantings - yet we are located just two
minutes drive from the Matiatia ferry terminal. It is an easy walk
to sandy Oneroa Beach and the village above it.
We
believe it is the small things that matter most - so you can expect
comfort, friendly and helpful hosts, and Waiheke at your fingertips.

Accommodation
Built in 2000, the homestead is modern yet elegant. Double or
twin rooms include large sumptuous beds, quality furnishings and
linen, self contained cooking facilities, wireless broadband internet
connection for notebooks, Sky television, and a long list of extras
including bath robes, selection of current magazines, fresh fruit,
and much more.
An
additional bed or cot is available on request.
Relax
on your private deck and watch the sunset over the bay, or join
us for a while during the evening in our large lounge which boasts
an open fire and a panoramic view of the boats anchored in the bay
below.
Laze beside - or in! - the pool, enjoy peace and tranquility listening
to the birds and soaking up the Waiheke sunshine. The spa pool is
the perfect place to unwind and watch the spectacular sunsets over
the bay.
The
Estate
A day can easily slip by without the need to leave the estate
of 3.3 hectares, all with commanding views over Owhanake Bay. The
vineyard comprises mostly syrah vines, along with 1000 pinot gris
and flora vines. We delight in giving guests private tours of our
vineyard. Pathways wind through our extensive New Zealand native
tree plantings, olive grove and small citrus and stone fruit orchard.
Our
philosophy is to maintain the character and beauty of Waiheke Island
on our property while producing wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetables
- all in a sustainable way.
We
have a large grassy area behind the homestead which overlooks the
whole estate and the bay. This special place is perfect for a wedding
marquee... or just a summer picnic! We enjoy the company of paradise
ducks, quails, pheasants and New Zealand native birds.
It
is, of course, just a short stroll to the beach below the estate.
