Coronet Peak
- The Premier Mountain Resort
With
over 60 years of passion and quality, dedicated veterans and first
timers will be blown away by the multi-million dollar transformation
of Coronet Peak for the 2008 season - elevating this much-loved
mountain to true world-class status. The brand new base building's
superb facilities will include larger and improved food and beverage
service areas, ticketing, storage, rentals, a huge heated sundeck
and expanded child care facilities and crèche. Just 25 minutes
from Queenstown by sealed road, it's the most accessible ski area
in the region. Renowned for its varied terrain, the series of interconnecting
bowls presents all sorts of surprising challenges and hidden delights
to ski/ride. Night skiing and First Tracks mean Coronet Peak has
the longest daily operating hours of any New Zealand resort and
its automated snowmaking system has been extended to over 200 snow
guns, now guaranteeing snow cover throughout the season. Coronet
Peak's specialised race facility is home and training ground for
world class athletes and the mountain hosts many prestigious races
and social events including FIS ski racing and the American Express

The Remarkables
- Where Attitude meets Altitude
High in The Remarkables mountain range, The Remarkables Ski Area
is known for its true alpine environment, relaxed atmosphere and
sense of fun. Young, hip snowboarders, freeskiers and families flock
to the mountain's varied trails, terrain parks and backcountry areas.
Catering superbly for the beginner and intermediate market, there
is also a wealth of big mountain possibilities for off-piste enthusiasts.
2008 will bring further snowmaking across the mountain, and the
beginner's area will receive two new surface conveyor lifts, bringing
the total to three. Freestylers can go on the rampage in the "The
Stash", a newly developed Burton park; the first of its type
in the Southern Hemisphere. Novice freestylers can progress in the
FruJu Beginner Park while not-so-serious visitors can forget the
boards and enjoy the Ozone Tubing Park. Live music and DJ's regularly
perform on the sun deck which adds to the party atmosphere whilst
lunchtime crowds enjoy the antics of the resident Kea population.
Children aged 6 and younger receive free day lift passes at The
Remarkables Ski Area - a 45 minute drive (26 km) drive from Queenstown.
Mt Hutt -
The Heart of the Southern Alps
Canterbury's Mt Hutt Ski Area, located high in the Southern Alps,
typically receives some of the lightest and driest powder in Australasia
and enjoys a long, June - October ski season. The combination of
long runs in a diverse mix of terrain complemented by excellent
mountain facilities confirm Mt Hutt's reputation as one of the Southern
Hemisphere's most diverse ski areas. A laidback atmosphere reflecting
