    This itinerary incorporates only the South Island of New Zealand. The arrival point of this itinerary is Dunedin where you can pick up your rental vehicle.  Dunedin is one of the best preserved Victorian and Edwardian cities in the Southern Hemisphere and is home to Otago University.

    From Dunedin travel to the Catlins Coast. This region takes you to enthralling wildlife experiences, beautiful waterfalls and rustic farmland scenery. Beaches, forest walks and nostalgic hospitality will capture your heart. From the Catlins, travel down to the Southland region taking in Invercargill and the Southern Scenic Route.

    Finally, visit the world famous Fiordland area where many of Peter Jackson's movie locations were chosen before finishing this itinerary in the Southern Lakes District and Queenstown. Queenstown Airport has flights to most of New Zealand and Australia's major cities, and rental car options are also available.

    Dunedin's largest industry is tertiary education. The city is home to the University of Otago, New Zealand's first university (1869), and the Otago Polytechnic. Popular visitor attractions in Dunedin include the Cadbury World chocolate factory and Speights Brewery - famous for its promotional branding based on being 'a real southern man' and being 'the pride of the south'. The Dunedin Chinese Garden and tea shop offers guided tours of the garden, and NZ Sports Hall of Fame displays and exhibits memorabilia that salutes the champions and their contributions to New Zealand's renowned sporting heritage. The Taieri Gorge takes you on a journey through the rugged and spectacular Taieri River Gorge from Dunedin's historic Railway Station to Middlemarch. On the doorstep of the city on the Otago Peninsula, where you can find incredible wildlife - the Yellow Eyed Penguin (the world's rarest penguins) a mainland albatross colony, fur seals and sea lions. Many eco-tourism tour guides operate daily cruises enabling visitors up close encounters with these rare animals. The Forsyth Barr Stadium at University Plaza in Dunedin will be host to 4 Rugby World Cup 2011 games

    7. Repeat the process for each stop until you get to the last stop.
