We offer you a unique experience. A time to talk, reflect, communicate, a chance to relax, re-ignite the fire, or just chill out in the privacy of your own secluded slice of heaven.

Our two romantic cabins are nestled in a valley in the Kaimai Ranges, just south of the mural town of Katikati, and north of Tauranga in New Zealand's Bay of Plenty. They are designed after the old NZ miners cottages of yesteryear, no electricity, just the warm evocative light of candles and a lantern and an outside bush bath. (lit for you at dusk) Wow.

 

Relax in the bath with a romantic wine or two, with just the sounds of the Waitekohe Stream and the night birds and watch the world and stars go by. Take a wander to the stream to see the glow-worms after dark - magical.

Our two cabins offer beautifully appointed accommodation and are available for short or long term stays - ideal for honeymoons or romantic treats. Even a night stolen from the world, works wonders for the soul.

 

 

Each cabin has a barbeque on the veranda which you can use to cook your breakfast which we provide.  Alternatively, breakfast can be served in the guest lounge cabin.  Your barbeque can also be used to cook your dinner which we can provide on a platter ($85.00 and must be pre-ordered) or you can bring your own food.  There is also a gas burner on the veranda where you can boil the billy for a cuppa.

There is a pot belly stove in each cabin that keeps you warm and cozy on cold days and nights.

 

The cabins are equipped with quality linen and a queen bed, fluffy towels and robes for the bush bath, Also, there is sufficient cutlery, crockery and complimentary tea and coffee.   The veranda deck is ideal for relaxation and contemplation. You can also chalk your wise or witty sayings or drawings on the blackboard ceiling. 

To maintain privacy the cabins are separate and have their own toilet but they do share the most memorable timber bathroom and shower you are ever likely to see.

Wake to the sound of the tuis, watch the hawk looking for breakfast, fantails, pheasants, wood pigeons. A weekend treat will help you unwind, but a longer romantic break is better.  Our facility caters for only two persons per cabin and is not suitable for children.  Sorry, it is not wheelchair friendly.

All you need is the ability to relax, enjoy the peace - and each other.

Price for one night per cabin is $220.00 (GST included) and $195.00 for subsequent nights.  We do not have credit card facilities so payment can be made in cash during your stay or by prior direct-credit transfer via your own computer.
