Waiteti Lakeside Lodge, Ngongotaha Rotorua
Waiteti Lakeside Lodge is situated on the shores of Lake Rotorua at the mouth of the picturesque Waiteti Trout Stream, 10 minutes away from Rotorua City, there's no traffic noise so guests enjoy peace and tranquillity as well as clean fresh air, free from the infamous sulphur fumes. We are close to all of Rotorua's visitor attractions, fine restaurants, geothermal activity, action activities and Maori culture.
The timber and natural stone lodge offers luxury private accommodation in Rotorua in traditional style and an extremely quiet and tranquil setting. There are five supremely comfortable bedrooms, three with en-suites and the other two sharing a bathroom. The en-suite rooms with TV's open onto balconies and enjoy spectacular views of the lake and stream mouth. In addition there is a private guest's lounge with satellite TV, video, library, pool table, and tea and coffee facilities.
Set in park-like grounds that extend to the waters edge the home enjoys a private jetty and boat launching ramp. Brian can arrange guided fly fishing on the lodges own charter boat or an expedition by float plane or 4-wheel drive to more remote locations, but if you're a "do-it-yourself" angler you can use one of the lodge's Canadian canoes, or simply grab a rod and cast from the stream bank, private lakeside jetty or from the private balcony outside your bedroom ! Your catch can be fresh smoked for a superb breakfast or lunch treat. Alternatively you may prefer to take a guided boat trip to historic Mokoia Island, a sacred Maori site and wildlife sanctuary, where native flora and birdlife, including several rare and endangered species, abound.
Your experienced hosts Brian and Val Blewett are available to advise and/or guide you at all times to ensure that your stay is highly enjoyable.
