Waitakere Alpacas
We do have 240 plus alpacas so not all of our great animals are listed in the site. We have animals to suit all budgets and needs, so please contact us with your enquiries.

Alpacas are lovely, friendly gentle and easy to farm. With a small amount of basic animal husbandry, they can be ideal pets for a lifestyle block or small farm. We have over 200 Alpacas on the farm, many of which are for sale .Our Alpacas are from top blood lines from Australia and Peru.

Hans Roecoert, the Owner/Farmer of Waitakere Alpacas, has a wealth of knowledge about Alpacas, which he is willing to share with prospective purchasers. He sells Alpacas locally within New Zealand, and also to Europe, for which Hans runs an export quarantine facility. Waitakere Alpacas’ Stud males are also available to perform stud services around New Zealand.

Waitakere Alpacas moved to South Head in March 2007.Since then,Hans and his team have worked hard to turn the farm  into a show piece for  Alpacas.

Waitakere Alpacas offers  several ways for the public to experience life on an alpaca farm .We accept bookings for group visits, offering two or more hours of fun, laughter and learning .We have a shop with goods made from  Alpaca fibre, and  related products. The shop opens for tours by arrangement. We also have a B & B Farmstay. Hans is developing a Fashion Label of clothes made from Alpaca fibre.

Farmstay

Bach with Kitchen, Lounge and Dining: 1 Double and 1 Twin bed room. A 5th person can sleep in the bed in the lounge if needed.

In our house: 2 Double bed rooms and 1 Twin bed room with own ensuites. 

$110.00 per night for two extra $45.00 pp, Continental breakfast included.

Cooked breakfast $10.00 pp extra.
