Our experience provides one of the most exhilarating and adrenaline-pumping rides in New Zealand. 90km of jet boating into the heart of the Fiordland National Park, including fascinating and educational guided nature walks, native Podocarp forest and Southern Beech forest.
The River : The Wairaurahiri River, 32km of rugged rock strewn grade three rapids that drop 600ft to sea level. These are the conditions which make the Wairaurahiri Jet such an exciting ride!

The Experience
Your adventure starts with a rip-roaring jet boat ride across Lake Hauroko to the mouth of the Wairaurahiri River, where you'll encounter some of the most intense and exiting white water rapids in the world!
Then its 27 kilometres of Grade 3 rapids until the South Coast of New Zealand is reached. Along the way several stops are made to admire the magnificent scenery of this unique region. You will also be able to enjoy several short walks into beautiful Fiordland National Park, including a delicious lunch stop.
After reaching the wild south coast of New Zealand, the adventure continues and the return journey allows you to experience the full force of the Wairaurahiri River's mighty current as we travel upstream to the original departure point.
Duration of this trip is at least 6.5 hours.

Leaves Lake Hauroko boat ramp at 10am. Set off across New Zealand’s deepest lake.
Then drop 600 feet via the wild Wairaurahiri River to the rugged south coast to the Waitutu Lodge. Delicious lunch and nature walks included. Friendly, local hosts free. (6 hour duration.)
TRAMPER DROP OFF/ PICK UP

One way transport for hunters or trampers. Drop off or pick up or both.
TWILIGHT TOURS
PRICE $179pp approx 40km’s JET BOATING
Summer only 6pm-9pm approx. Meet Wairaurahiri jet at Lake Hauroko boat ramp set off across New Zealand’s deepest lake, and then rush off down the top third of the wild Wairaurahiri River.
OVERNIGHT STAY
The ultimate get away. Jet boat down the white waters of the Wairaurahiri River. Stay overnight at the Waitutu Lodge, then jet boat back to the real world the following day. These trips can be tailored to suit i.e. length of duration of stay, fully catered.
*Waitutu lodge accommodation $30 per person per night. Extra $20pp per night for bedding supplied.

Combine the excitement of the grade three rapids in our Jet boat with the thrill seeing Fiordland from the air taking in the Percy Burn Viaduct and the Hump Ridge. Multiples of 8 or close to are needed for this adventure.

THE BIG THREE - JET BOAT, LAKE LAUNCH & HELICOPTER
PRICE $ 199pp. Large Groups of 20 or more. This option travels part way down the wild Wairaurahiri River, cruises around part of the mysterious Lake Hauroko, then view the amazing scenery from the air by Helicopter. Sausage sizzle included.
ONE DAY BOAT HIRE
PRICE $2400 Up to 12 guests, includes BBQ lunch and driver.
