Our 4x4 quad bike rides are all through scenic fern clad native bush and are over all terrain trails specifically built for 4WD quad bikes. All trails have amazing scenery with breathtaking views.
We provide for the nervous and those who have never ridden before through to the experienced and confident riders.

Explore our exciting bike trails while winding your way through awesome, scenic native bush. Enjoy panoramic views at the lookout where we stop for light refreshments on the 2 and 3 hour trips. Great photo opportunities, so bring your camera.
Sporttrax Safari (Suzuki LTZ 2WD 250cc quad)

2 Hours: $155
These bikes are perfect for all levels and abilities from the novice (who have never ridden) through to the more confident. They are light and easy to learn to ride and highly recommended for even more fun and enjoyment.
4 X 4 Safari (Honda 4WD 300cc Quad)
1 Hour: $85

Our native bush trails both suit and test your ability! It is not a farm ride! Trips depart daily and bookings recommended.
One and Two Day Experiences
The Wilderness Adventure Rides operate from a unique iconic New Zealand location. Ride in the famous Tongariro Forest Park - this is the amazing, alpine wilderness area of the Volcanic Plateau.
Awesome trails traverse rocky riverbeds and navigate through rugged bush to reach ridge tops overlooking spectacular river valleys, with panoramic views of the mountains and surrounds.
Some experience or practical ability is needed on these trips.
This trip has awesome trails, major mud and mayhem, river crossings and trails to challenge the best.
1 Day Trip: $299
Start at 8.30am to 3.30pm. Tea/Coffee and lunch supplied
Bring warm clothes, sensible sturdy footwear and sun-cream
You need to be prepared for all weather conditions
2 Day Trip: $599
Start at 8.30am return next day 3.30pm
Includes morning/afternoon tea and coffee, 2 lunches, a hearty breakfast on 2nd day and accommodation with bedding. You pay for evening meal at the hotel in Owhanga village.
We Supply
- Waterproof bags for your clothing
- Helmets
- Accommodation at Owhango Forest Lodge (bedding etc all provided)
- All food excluding meal at Owhango Hotel (bring money for this meal and drinks at the bar if you wish)
- Change of clothes and footwear
- Warm clothing as weather is very changeable down there ie Jacket, hat and gloves
- Good strong footwear ie. Hiker boots/gumboots
- Wet weather gear ie. Jackets/leggings
- Towel and personal items
- Money for meal and drinks at Owhango
