Conveniently situated
'Tatahi' in Maori means beach. Being only a 400m level walk to the white sands of Hahei Beach, 50m to local cafes, restaurants & amenities and within walking distance of Cathedral Cove, you wont need your vehicle again until its time to leave or to visit nearby Hot Water Beach.

The Lodge
Nestled within 1.5 acres of tropical gardens lawns and bush are just 9 accommodation units.

• The two bedroom Garden Cottage is set in its own grounds within the Lodge.
  
• The 5 spacious Motel Units are all two bedroom and fully self catering. .
  
• The Studio's of which there are 3 are all ensuited and have tea and coffee making facilities.

Those who require disabled access are catered for.

Families with children are most welcome at Tatahi Lodge and you will find their needs well provided for. Tatahi Lodge is also a great option for larger groups, conferences, and weddings.

All accommodation units feature original New Zealand artwork, much of it produced locally. For guest enjoyment Sky television features in all accommodation units. A laundry with washing, drying and ironing facilities is available for use by all guests.

A wonderful option for the free independent traveller on a budget and for those who enjoy meeting and socialising with people from all parts of the world.

Purpose built, our backpacker lodge features a natural timber interior with high cathedral ceilings. The accommodation comprises a large modern kitchen and 2 open plan dining / living areas which open to an outdoor seating and BBQ area, an ideal place to relax with a good book or to soak up the sun and views on a lounger.

Sleeping a maximum of 23, we have 3 spacious bunks rooms, 2 of which sleep 6 and the other 4. At the opposite end of the lodge we have 3 private rooms, serviced by a shared bathroom. One room is a triple ( king + single / 3 x singles ). One is a king or twin, the third has a queen size bed.

All linen and bedding is supplied and for our private rooms this includes fresh towels daily.

Conferences - Tatahi Lodge is proving increasingly popular as a conference and team building venue offering a competitive alternative to the more traditional city based options yet with the distinct advantage of a beautiful natural environment where work and leisure can be inexpensively combined.

Groups & Weddings - At Tatahi Lodge we have the facilities & experience to make your occasion in Hahei a special one. Our spacious open plan Backpackers Lodge with modern kitchen and excellent outdoor area is the perfect venue for entertaining and holding group events. The Backpacker Lodge is able to sleep 23 and of course we have our spacious 2 bedroom motel units and garden studio units for those in your group who may require extra levels of comfort or privacy . Tatahi Lodge can sleep 56 guests in total.

Our fully equipped and serviced Backpacker Lodge which includes all linen and bedding can be booked for the exclusive use of your group providing a very low cost effective accommodation / venue option in one of New Zealand's most beautiful locations.

With so many activities on and off the water your group occasion can be as laid back or action packed as you want it to be.
