Riversong B&B is five minutes from Wanaka township at historic Albert Town at the heart of Central Otago and entrance to Mount Aspiring National Park. Your hosts at Riversong B&B are Ann and Ian Horrax. Ann’s background is in health care and nursing, and she enjoys gardening, cooking, music and reading, and is dedicated to the well being of guests. She can help and provide all the information you need for a memorable stay. Ian’s background is in law, but his passion is trout fishing. He is happy to provide guests with the benefit his local fishing knowledge, and guidance services. Ann and Ian have travelled widely together.

Ann and Ian pride themselves in providing the benefits of a homestay that is tastefully decorated, comfortable and warm. You can be part of the family, or apart from the family - the choice is yours. One friendly, but outdoor Labrador dog, Bess resides also at Riversong.
The guestrooms all command stunning river, mountain and garden views. Privacy and full home comforts are assured and provided.

Fly Fishing
Visitors staying at RIVERSONG can enjoy a unique opportunity to participate within the magical scenery of Central Otago by having your host Ian Horrax, take you fishing. Ian’s speciality is fly fishing. As a past Regional and National Fish and Game councilor, he has long term knowledge, experience and involvement in issues affecting fisheries in New Zealand.
Ian is happy to provide guests with the benefit of his local fishing knowledge, as well, and in particular, tuition towards introducing beginners to the pleasures of fly fishing.
In Ian's company you will see fish like you never thought possible and further your casting skills if that's what you desire. If you want to know how to cast a fly beneath overhanging branches, ask Ian. If you need to roll-cast a fly to a reluctant trout, ask Ian for advice. You will be pleased with your newfound skill.
With so many delightfully different waters adjacent to RIVERSONG, a day or two (or three) on the water is a pleasant and rewarding form of relaxation. When he accompanies you to wilderness rivers that host big trout, take his advice and "think like a fish." This is probably the ultimate fishing experience!
