River Run Retreat Bed & Breakfast, Paihia
River Run is strategically positioned to capture the best of the magical Waitangi riverfront setting, yet it is conveniently close to both Paihia and Kerikeri, approximately 10 minutes either way.
Sweeping lawns and native plantings lead to the Waitangi River, with its sandy beaches, trout fishing spots and swimming holes.
Our property is approximately two acres and runs from Puketona Road down to the banks of the Waitangi River.
Our pavilion style home was designed by a Paihia architect to take full advantage of this magical riverside setting.
We purchased the land in 2003 and have spent five years building and developing the site, with Roger doing all the building himself. We have specialised in planting native trees and shrubs to encourage the native birdlife.
Our Bed and Breakfast rooms – ‘Garden Room’ and ‘River Room’ are two self contained private queen sized rooms in their own pavilion. The purpose built pavilion is linked to the main house by a covered glass walkway. Each room has its own entrance and deck.
We have lived in Paihia for 36 years and enjoy the many attractions of the area from the historical to the scenic.
