River Tours offers an exciting range of Fishing and Jet Boat Tours on the pristine waters of the Rakaia Gorge. We are located just one hours drive from Christchurch International Airport, and ten minutes from the Mighty Southen Alps.

Jet Boat Tours - Sport and recreation opportunities made possible by the famous HamiltonJet ™. Originally designed and built in New Zealand, the Hamilton waterjet turbine functions similarly to turbines of the aero industry, taking in and pumping out large volumes of water at high speed to produce thrust. This offers variety and excitement and is truly an adventure/nature tour. Experience the thrill, power and manoeuverability of jet boating. A 32 kilometer, 35 minute tour is NZ$68 per person. Group concessions are available. Tours can be custom-designed to suit preferences.

Canterbury Fly Fishing: Fly fishing for Rainbow and Brown Trout is available year round throughout much of Canterbury, which each new season starting October 1st. However the favoured high country season runs from the first weekend in November till the end of April.

Small lake and streams that eventually join the larger river systems are snow fed from the high mountains which run the length of the South Island. These lakes and streams are known to captivate the hearts of anglers from the world over. Access to the wide variety of fishing options may by jet boat, helicopter, 4WD or on foot. 4WD guided fly fishing tours, including equipment and lunch $NZ650 (one person), $NZ750 (two people). Maximum 2 people per guide unless specifically requested. Fishing licences can be supplied but are extra. A minimum lead time of 24 hours in advance is required for planning fly fishing safaris.
