A Very Special Place to Stay on the wild side on Otago Peninsula.

Only 7 minutes drive from Portobello. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the country and only 5 minutes walk to Allans Beach.

Allans Beach Farm Stay offers two self-contained units, a home away from home. The accommodation has everything that you might need and is sunny and warm.

We are fortunate to have magnificent scenery and an abundance of wildlife adjacent to our farm on the wild side of the Otago Peninsula. These include Yellow Eyed Penguins, New Zealand Sea lions, Seals, Little Blue Penguins and a variety of bird life that is to be found here.

Each unit sleeps 4-5 people, has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and the other with twin beds and a fold out bed if required. There is also a 'sleep-out' to accommodate 2 other persons. All cooking facilities, T.V., washing machine provided.

Evening Wildlife Tour - Penguin Tour

This personalized tour is a soft adventure with the main focus being on the wildlife in the area.

It starts at our home at Allans Beach Farm Stay. Sam takes you in his 4x4 Landrover 'Betsie' out to Cape Saunders. On the way you may see a variety of wading birds in Hoopers and Papanui Inlets.

Out at Cape Saunders the tour goes off road to view Seals, New Zealand Sea Lions and Yellow Eyed Penguins, which breed on and frequent our coastline. The coastline scenery is magnificent and you can also get an insight into farming in New Zealand.

Everything on this tour is totally natural and designed so that none of the nature is disturbed by our presence. The off road experience is exhilarating and the views spectacular.
