We love horses and the outdoors, and we want to share that passion with you. Nothing compares to the feeling of leaving the crowds behind, climbing into the saddle, breathing in the fresh air, riding across beautiful New Zealand farmland and seeing those amazing views out over the Valley and the Lakes.
We have horse rides for everyone – beginners and advanced riders, young and not so young! Our fully-trained professional team will match you with the best horse for your ability, and make sure that your riding experience is safe and fun. Before every trek, there is a free riding lesson included in the price, but be sure to arrive a half an hour before your booked time.
Paradise Valley Ventures Horse Riding is set on 700 acres of New Zealand pasture – a working farm with sheep and cattle. There is no better way to see rural life than by horseback. We are the Bay of Plenty’s only Qualmark approved horse trekking operation. Located in Paradise Valley, we are within easy driving distance of Rotorua and nearby other great attractions like the Agrodome and the Paradise Valley Wildlife Park.
Rotorua Horse Treks
At Paradise Valley Ventures Horse Riding we have rides for people of all confidence and ability levels
All treks begin with a free lesson, to make sure you’re happy and relaxed on your horse. Our number 1 concern is that your horse trekking experience is the best it can be. All our horses are quiet and well-behaved. Helmets are provided, along with rain jackets if required. Staff are fully trained.
Although there are treks for everyone, we recommend a moderate level of fitness. Don’t forget if you have any questions, you can give us a call and have a chat or talk to one of our friendly staff when you arrive.

- Customer’s Choice (1.5 hours) - $90 adult, $75 child
- Short and Sweet (1 hour) - $65 adult, $50 child
- Jo’s Ride (for families with children age 7-12) (45 minutes) - $45pp
- Pony Rides (for children under 8) (20 or 30 minutes) - $20-$30pp
