In the heart of Marlborough's wine growing area lies Old Saint Mary's Convent ~ a haven for the discerning traveller, where luxury accommodation and an intimate retreat may be found.
Old Saint Mary's Convent is situated on an estate of 60 acres of vineyards, gardens and parkland and surrounded on all sides by the vineyards and olive groves Marlborough is famous for.
Spring Creek, with its abundant bird life and trout, meanders lazily through the property. It is here, beneath Marlborough's azure sky, that one may spend a pleasant afternoon sipping local vintages and sampling the provincial gourmet fare.
Accommodation
Each of the five rooms has spectacular views of the surrounding hills, vineyards and/or gardens. All have their own ensuite with bath and separate shower. The rooms are very spacious and airy with easy access to the balcony.
Essential modern conveniences, like fire protection sprinklers and a sophisticated heating and air conditioning system, are cleverly hidden behind the old ceilings, rimu panelling and timbered floors.
Continental or cooked breakfast is served in the cosy dining room. The library, with its ornate Kauri fireplace and separate billiards room, is for the exclusive use of guests.

Facilities
Relax or make use of the bicycles, outdoor swimming pool, petanque court or croquet area.
Splendid grass tennis courts neighbouring the Convent can usually be used by guests.
Marlborough Weddings
Old St Mary's Convent is an idyllic wedding venue. Ceremonies can be held in the gardens or in St Michael's Church which is located on the grounds.
The Church can hold a maximum of 140 people. You may choose to hold the reception in marquees on the grounds or perhaps hold a drinks party in the garden while photos are being taken - going on to another reception venue.

- Chapel (Honeymoon) Suite $NZ 800 ~ Executive suite, the size of a small apartment, situated in the old Chapel with antique beautifully crafted old stained glass windows and its own private balcony. Terms and Conditions
The room charge is for two persons' occupancy and includes a complimentary glass of wine before dinner and a delicious breakfast. Tea and coffee are served at all times. All bathrooms have toiletries, hair dryers and robes. All rooms are fully air-conditioned with Sky TV and high speed wireless internet connection and DVD players.
Our single room rate is $NZ 400 (not available for the Chapel Suite and Mother Superior suite).
The surcharge for a third guest (child only) in a room is $NZ100 per night.
Our guests have the exclusive use of our library and guest lounge. Complimentary bicycles are available for your vineyard tour.
St. Michael's Church, situated in our garden, is a beautifully restored 100-year-old wooden Church, eminently suitable for quiet contemplation or small weddings.
Our cancellation policy is: ~ We charge 25% of total charge if a reservation is cancelled within the last 30 days prior to arrival date. We charge 100% of total charge of expected stay with us if a reservation cancellation is made in the last 7 days prior to arrival.
