The luxury lodge is embedded in 600 acres of pasture, a romantic lake, a beautiful English style park with sweeping lawns, native and exotic trees, a historic arboretum, perfume garden, daffodil lawn, woodland walk and an extensive rose garden featuring more than 350 roses. A true "slice of paradise" where you feel miles  away from the hustle and bustle of city live.

Wine lovers will find our very own winery, the Spy Valley Vineyard only a short stroll away to taste and indulge in award winning wines.

Lake Timara Lodge's accommodation options compliment the overall ambience of privacy and comfort.

All rooms have picturesque views of either the magnificent gardens, stunning man-made lake, or the distant magical mountains. Choose from four charming rooms with king beds and en suite bathrooms, some with spa baths and private sitting rooms. The rooms feature fine art and antiques and the quality furnishings are modern and tasteful, instilling a sense of utter luxury, right down to the softest Italian linen.

Each bedroom at Lake Timara Lodge is completely private and has its own en suite bathroom, as well as spectacular views of the grounds. All our air-conditioned bedrooms are fully serviced and non-smoking, the en suite bathrooms are all equipped with a hair dryer, shaver plug and heated towel rail. Bath towels, toiletries and additional towels are also provided.

Fine Marlborough Cuisine
One of the recognized highlights of a visit to Timara Lodge is the fine cuisine prepared by charming host and Chef Louis Schindler.

He worked for some of the finest Michelin starred restaurants in Europe and has been part in establishing the famous Herzog's Gourmet Restaurant in Marlborough. He is also a keen hunter, tramper, diver and fisherman who loves exploring the countryside and can tell a tale or two. Best of all - he will tell you where to find the hidden treasures of Marlborough.
