Welcome to the Jailhouse farmstay; a dream location for Fishing, Tramping, Mountain Biking, Hunting and Farm Tours.

The Old Te Whaiti Jail, with its own historical background, now lovingly renovated for your comfort. This fully self-contained accommodation is set on a 3000 acre sheep and beef farm, nestled among Te Urewera National Park and the entrance to the world famous Whirinaki Forest Park.

Accommodation
A fully self-contained farm stay accommodation in an idyllic rural setting overlooking lush farm lands and surrounded by stunning native bush.

The farm stay contains a split queen bed in the master bedroom to accommodate a couple or 2 singles , second bedroom has a bunkset and a single ( sleeps 3), there is also a foldout double bed/couch in the main living room. Bathroom includes shower and there is a kitchen/dining area with extensive cooking facilities. Please note, all linens are provided.

Accommodation also includes a television, 2 heaters and plenty of storage.

LARGE GROUP ACCOMMODATION:
Up to 18 people can be accommodated between the Jailhouse and another holiday house situated on the farm, a recent addition to the Whirinaki Forest's accommodation options. Please enquire with us if you are interested in large group accommodation.

Whirinaki Forest MTB and Tramping Shuttles
If you’re looking for a fun and friendly experience, we offer a fully licensed quality shuttle service with free vehicle security, for both mountain bikers and trampers, into the beautiful Whirinaki Forest Park.

  • Shuttle service to new 35km Moerangi Track.
  • Spacious 12 seater van.
  • Professionally built 10 bike rack trailer system.
  • Can accommodate larger numbers on request
  • Minimum of 4 people per shuttle (individuals and groups welcome to make up required numbers).
  • Bookings are essential.
  • NB: Please note that the majority of shuttle routes are gravel and are potentially damaging to vehicles.
