Come and experience our spectacular 3 day loop walk.  The track winds along the coast, up to alpine on the Hump Ridge and over historic viaducts.  Our two lodges are in superb locations,  each offering beautiful views and wildlife spotting.  We are the only walking track in Fiordland offering upgrade facilities to independant walkers!  Why not enjoy a hot shower and super king-size bed on your journey?  You can also book your pack to be taken by helicopter...

The Tuatapere Hump Ridge Freedom Plus package includes:

• Pre-tramp accommodation in Tuatapere, the evening before your start walk date, - twin share B&B
• Heli packing the first day/sector - Rarakau to Okaka
• Okaka and Port Craig Lodge - bunk room 8 in each
• a hot shower and  loan towel at each Lodge
• sleeping bag and liner provided at the lodges
• hot porridge for breakfast at each Lodge
• all crockery and cooking equipment
• gas cooking and heating
• gas heated lounge and dinning room
• flush toilets and running water

Freedom Walk (unguided) - For the keen independent tramper with their own transport. Three days walking and two nights on the track at Okaka and Port Craig Lodges. Limited services in Winter. Children 10 - 14 years half price. We are trying to implement a new booking system at the moment.  Please be patient with us while we iron out some initial setbacks.  

Track availability - Apart from the first week in March when we are holding our Celebrity Walk, you can book the track any day you want to walk.  We will start filling up, but at this stage you can go ahead and book travel arrangements (and secure those low price airfares) before you hear back from us regarding your confirmation.  If you want to add helipacking to your booking, please ask about our helicopter availability to make sure this option is available for you on your chosen date.  (remember - arrive the night before into Tuatapere to get your passes)

The Tuatapere Hump Ridge Freedom Walk package includes:

• Bunk accomodation at Okaka  and Port Craig Lodges - 1 night at each. Bunk rooms have 8 beds in each
• 3 days use of the Tuatapere Hump Ridge Track facilities
• hot porridge and brown sugar for breakfast
• pillows and pillow slips
• all crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment including gas
• solar lighting throughout complex
• gas heated Lounge and Dinning Room
• flush toilets and running water

Refreshments and other handy items are available for purchase at both Lodges

Fiordland Guided Walks - Let us show you the way... experienced guides take care of all arrangements and ensure you enjoy your back country journey through our piece of paradise.Our guided groups are a maximum of 10 persons (if you have a larger group, contact us, we can accommodate you)

• A short helicopter flight across Te Waewae bay shortens your walk by 2hrs the first day and you might even spot the rare hectors dolpins playing in the surf.
• We helipack your luggage to and from each lodge, so you only carry a daypack.
• You will have a private room with super king double bed (or king single twin share) at each of our remote lodges.
• Take a refreshing hot shower each evening after walking
• Delicious three course meals and all lunches/snacks are included
• Pre-departure accommodation - dinner, bed & breakfast in Tuatapere, also included.

If you have a non walking partner or friend they can take advantage of our Helilift option.....and have a hot drink waiting for you on arrival!
