Herbertville Motor Camp is situated 68km east of Dannevirke and 80km South East from Waipukurau, and is a wild East Coast experience not to be missed.

The pet friendly campground has a rural atmosphere and is ideally situated with the beach a few minutes walk away, a country pub across the road and a 9 hole golf course right next door. The “Cock and Pullet” café is just down the road.

The 14 kilometre dune sand beach is suitable for riding, walking, surf casting and Kontiki fishing, and has become a popular holiday destination.

Cape Turnagain, at one end of the beach, is accessible with 4 wheel drive vehicles and tractors – or a 20 minute walk. It contains safe swimming, surfing, diving, and an ideal channel for launching boats and is a beautiful spot for family picnics. The seal colony is an added attraction.

• 18 powered sites are available. There are also plenty of wide open spaces for tent sites with some hedges and trees for shelter
• Well- appointed kitchen/dining room with modern cooking equipment, generous refrigerator and freezer space, crockery and cutlery.
• The ablution block has been recently refurbished and  a separate new spacious paraplegic/family bathroom has been built with a changing table for mothers of babies
• Children’s play area
