HELiPRO Helicopter Experience
If all you want to do is find out what it is like to fly in a helicopter, at the least possible cost, then this trip is for you! We’ll take you for a quick 9 minute flight out to the west of Christchurch Airport and back. Experience the thrill of helicopter flight.
Twin Craters Explorer
Join us to explore what lies beyond our Garden City. Passing the city we climb to the rim of Christchurch’s famous extinct Lyttelton Volcano to reveal the sheltered waters of Lyttelton Harbour. Continuing on our journey takes us over Banks Peninsula and onto the historic French inspired community of Akaroa with its beautiful Harbour resident Hector Dolphins. Weather permitting we’ll land you on a remote beach before returning to Christchurch where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the Canterbury Plains and Distant Southern Alps. This is a great trip!

Chest Peak Alpine Landing
From the HELiPRO Helicentre we fly west over the Canterbury Plains on track to the majestic Waimakariri Gorge, gateway to the Southern Alps. Enjoy the thrill of flying through this spectacular steep sided river canyon before climbing to land at high altitude on the summit of the dramatic Chest Peak. Here you will enjoy expansive 360 degree views overlooking the Canterbury plains and our snow capped alpine mountains. After enjoying some light refreshments in the pure mountain air, re board your helicopter and enjoy a thrilling descent over the Ashley River and Lee’s Valley for the return flight to Christchurch.
This is a truly unforgettable trip which can be made even more special by requesting our optional picnic lunch either in the heart of the Waimakariri Gorge, or the top of Chest Peak.

HELiPRO U-FLY
So you think you’ve got what it takes to fly a helicopter!!!
HELiPRO gives you the chance to have a ‘hands on’ attempt at flying a helicopter. Experience the thrill of taking the controls of your helicopter and trying to master the skills of hovering and flying (with a qualified instructor beside you of course). This once in a lifetime experience is by appointment only and available 6 days a week.
Allow approx. 1 hour including your informative pre flight pilots briefing.
