Clover Downs is a unique place to stay. Situated just 15 minutes from Rotorua in the secluded country setting of Ngongotaha, it is a B&B farmstay experience like no other, catering for single travellers, couples and families.

Large comfortable rooms provide you with a place to rest and relax in peace and tranquillity, while sheep, ostriches and deer graze on the green paddocks surrounding the house.

The four suites at Clover Downs Estate are private and very generous in size. They are tastefully decorated and offer unsurpassed levels of comfort to make your stay truly relaxing.

All four bedrooms have king or super-king beds, ensuite bathrooms, and open to private outdoor decks with lake or farm views.

Facilities include: bathrobes, toiletries, tea and coffee, mini bar, refrigerator, TV, video and stereo unit, telephone, hairdryer, heater and ceiling fan. Guests have access to laundry facilities and fax and wireless internet is also available.

Rooms are serviced daily and are available in single, double, triple and family configurations

Rotorua Farm Activities

Clover Downs gives you an unparalleled opportunity to get up close to farm animals. Take the complimentary farm tour, feed an ostrich by hand, see trained sheep dogs rounding up sheep and get within a few feet of the magnificent deer. In the evenings, enjoy a glass of wine on your own private veranda overlooking lush pasture.

Your hosts, Mike and Sharon Ferris, will ensure that your retreat is comfortable and memorable. They can also help arrange other activities so that you can experience all that Rotorua has to offer – geothermal wonderlands with geysers and bubbling mud pools, the rich Maori culture, excellent fishing, sightseeing and other exciting pursuits. Or you can travel further afield to Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, Whakatane, Taupo and Waitomo.

The Going Flying Room also has its own lounge area with 29-inch TV, video and mini stereo system, and comfortable cane furniture with a couch that doubles as an extra bed.       The Gone Fishing Room is a restful sanctuary for a relaxing night’s sleep. This room is generously appointed with a super-king (Californian) bed or twin single beds to suit your situation. It can also accommodate up to two extra single beds, making it an ideal family suite. The suite has its own lounge area with 29-inch TV, video and mini stereo system.
