Waikato's main centre, Hamilton, is the fourth largest city in New Zealand and the new home of V8 street race and also home to Balloons over Waikato, Waikato Stadium where sporting events are held and our soon to be opened Claudelands Events Centre. Venturing out from the city in any direction, visitors can encounter a number of small towns dotted throughout the countryside, each with its own character and subtle charm.
Base yourself in Hamilton and visit the Waitomo Caves, Hobbiton (Movie set where Lord of the Rings Trilogy was filmed) or visit the beautiful Raglan and its great surf beach. Discover the Waikato Museum of Art & History, featuring some of the best exhibits of Waikato Heritage, art and New Zealand culture.
