A NZ farmstay can be one of the most rewarding ways to experience NZ
many farmstays offering farm activities as well as showing you what it is like to work on a NZ farm.
New Zealand farmstays enable travellers to experience farming life and really get to know Rural New Zealanders. Farmstay experiences can vary from bed and breakfast rooms in the family residence to self contained cottages or a traditional farmers homestead on a working NZ farm.
You have the choice to participate in the day to day running of a traditional Kiwi farm, including interaction with farm animals, horse riding, mustering, or even helping in the shearing shed.
The size and locations of farmstays can vary throughout the country. From small lifestyle blocks on the outskirts of NZ's tourist towns, to large isolated high country sheep stations.
