Museum of Early New Zealand & Honey Shop, Tirau

Situated 3.5km east of Tirau on the Rotorua Road. Within the 10,000 square foot building, purpose built for the museum display, a large range of items can be viewed and studied. These include:

  • Lamps
  • Gramophones,
  • Coins
  • Military memorabilia
  • Bottles and stoneware
  • Firearms
  • Telephones and exchanges
  • Shop displays
  • Farm machinery
  • Horse drawn vehicle
  • Many other items

Visitors are able to wander through at leisure and enjoy the unique surroundings of a hobby that has developed into a huge collection..

Also on the site is a Honey Shop, and a Picnic & BBQ area.

Open 7 Days a Week
- Summer Hours 9 am to 6 pm
- Winter Hours 9 am to 5 pm

We have been dealers and collectors of Royal Doulton and most fine English china for over 20 years. Over this time we have had many 1000s of items of all shapes sizes and quality pass through our hands. Many of these items have been packed and sent overseas with no problems.

We have a large range of pre 1940s lights and shades and a good range of Sterling silver, Crystal, Cutlery, Pictures, Halfdolls, Art glass, Postcards, Prints, Woodwork tools, Jewellery, Tiles, Furniture, Binoculars, Sewing, plus H C J of all descriptions.
