Lake
Hawea Motel & Lakeside Cottage are situated off Route 6, just
14km from Wanaka for access to Mt Aspiring National Park or en route
to the West coast. But Lake Hawea is not just a stopping off point
as it offers an unspoiled tranquil haven renowned for its fishing.
From
the motel a four minute walk down to the beach provides a billion
dollar view - perhaps the best in the Southern Lakes region - just
waiting to be discovered.
Our
four self-contained units sleep 2 to 6 people:
- 1
x family - [1 Queen, 1 single + 1 x double and single bunk in
seperate adjoining rom] New beds
- 3
x studio - [1 Queen, 1 single] New beds.
- Each
has a small kitchen, oven, 2 /4 hobs, fridge, toaster, microwave,
coffee percolator and all pots & utensils etc plus of course
shower & toilet.
Our
lakeside crib sleeps 6:
- Fully
self-contained with a full kitchen.
- Beautiful
views of the lake.
- Private
and quiet.
Pool
- The 15 metre swimming pool is extremely pleasant during the hot
Otago summer set within large grassy grounds providing a tranquil
feel. We also provide a BBQ free for use.
Kids
- Children are more than welcome. We have a cot available for
guest use. There is a play ground very handy across the road behind
the tennis courts. We can also provide tennis racquets.
The
Central Otago region is renowned for unspoiled access to skiing
and snowboarding, hiking, fishing and river or lake adventures.
It is also becoming known for superb wine, especially the pinot
noir. During the world renowned bi-annual Warbirds over Wanaka Festival
the aircraft fly aerobatics right over the lake.
Our
position and proximity to the two local skifields, Cardrona and
Treble Cone presents a quiet alternative to the 'hustle & bustle'
of Wanaka.
